The Challenge

A local hockey team needed a high-impact, custom award for their end-of-season ceremony with a very tight turnaround. They wanted their 2D logo transformed into physical, wearable medallions for the players, but they only had three business days to go from concept to delivery.

The Solution

To meet the deadline without sacrificing quality, the process began by importing a color SVG of the team logo into Fusion 360. The 2D art was converted into a multi-component 3D model, with each color isolated into its own geometric layer.

To achieve a professional, "shop-bought" look rather than a typical 3D-printed feel, the medallions were printed face-down on a textured PEI build plate. This technique hides layer lines on the primary visible surface and replaces them with a uniform, high-end pebbled texture that catches the light and makes the colors pop.
