Smoothing, Painting & Epoxy Finishes
FDM Finishing
Turn visible-layer FDM prints into cleaner display pieces, painted models, presentation prototypes, and more durable finished parts.
FDM Finishing
FDM printing is strong, practical, and cost-effective, but freshly printed parts often show layer lines, seams, support marks, or small surface imperfections. Our FDM finishing services add the extra craft after printing: filling, smoothing, sanding, priming, painting, and epoxy finishes tailored to how the part will be used.
Common Use Cases
- Presentation prototypes and investor demo models
- Cosplay props, helmets, armor pieces, and display objects
- Decorative home, office, and retail display pieces
- Painted miniatures, sculptures, and themed models
- Branded promotional pieces and awards
- Large FDM parts printed in sections and blended after assembly
- Functional prints that need a cleaner visible surface
Gap Filling & Surface Smoothing
We fill seams, layer texture, and small print artifacts where appropriate, then smooth the surface to prepare it for primer, paint, or a clear protective finish.
Sanding & Primer Prep
Progressive sanding and primer help reduce visible layer lines and create a cleaner base for display parts, prototypes, cosplay pieces, and decorative prints.
Painted Finishes
We can apply single-color, multi-color, metallic-look, or detail-painted finishes depending on the part geometry, project budget, and desired appearance.
Epoxy Coating
Epoxy finishes can add gloss, surface depth, and extra protection for selected FDM parts. We recommend epoxy when it matches the part shape, use case, and finish goals.
